Most Admirable of Ancient Industries
AgTrak is a programme developed for Australian farmers and growers allowing them to keep track of every expense and sale on the property. It takes the minimum of time to record all details for shearing, crop spraying, harvesting and other activities (including Inventory) on the farm.
AgTrak is built using Microsoft Office Access 2007 - which is a database application development tool (database builder).
Using Access as a base, we have designed a programme that is most beneficial to farmers and growers in terms of information available and the up-front cost.
The design incorporates one database containing twenty six tables, thirty forms (called Folders) and twenty six Reports.
This allows growers to identify and inventory every piece of equipment, stock and produce, and includes a Folder for Traders and Suppliers.
AgTrak also keeps track of major farming events (or Actions) around the farm, like animal growth, crop spraying, shearing, planting/development/budgeting and harvesting.
The Planting/Development/Budgeting Folder is particularly useful when further development of a paddock is thought advantageous, and allows for a total expense figure to be worked out. Naturally, this Folder like all the others, can be edited and altered allowing for instant updates of the information and costs.
AgTrak saves every addition, deletion and alteration immediately, and therefore proves almost impossible to lose information.
Commencing with a normal start page, the user moves to a "Main Menu" displaying all the Folders.
The Start page, Main Menu and an example of the Folders and Full Reports for Crop Spraying and Harvesting are shown here.
With the facility of using drop-down Menus, selecting sheep, cattle and goat breeds, seed types, etcetera, make it very simple to record your information.
Certain Folders offer other relevant and useful information. For instance, once opening the 'Crop Spraying' Folder, information is available concerning Crop Diseases (with Internet links to state government primary industry web sites), Soil pH in a separate Folder and a direct Internet link to substantial information on Salinity.
The 'Date' is the first field requiring input within all Folders and with a Calendar that appears automatically to the right of the date field, it is a simple matter of selecting the appropriate date. Using the keyboard's Tab key (or the Enter key) to move to the next field, input is as easy as it gets. Once the final field has received information (and the Tab or Enter key is pressed), the new record is created and the next record opens allowing you to continue to enter data, if required.
Access's Help is always available, however we have tried to make the programme so easy to use that AgTrak's Help files will be all that's generally required. Should more assistance be needed, there is a direct Help file on this web site, or an E-mail address to contact us.
Reports are available from all Folders and are similar to those here.
In keeping with our pricing policy to keep the cost of the programme down, AgTrak is not available as a download due to the costs of Internet-based banking.
AgTrak is available on Compact Disk (CD) with full and simple instructions on how to install it to your computer.
Pricing for AgTrak is $AUD665.00 for a single Licence. Assistance is available from 11:00 - 16:00HRS Monday - Friday - Australian Eastern Time.
Payment may be made by Direct Deposit. Please E-mail for details.
